100 Years of Friendship Dolls

One hundred years ago, the friendship doll exchange between Japan and the US took place.  At the start of WWII, Japan ordered the American dolls sent destroyed ,though a few escaped.  In the US, they were preserved.  There is on in the Putnam Museum Davenport Iowa.

In honor of the anniversary, I am posting some photos of Japanese dolls.
